Dear Fellow Mountain States Association of Community College Presidents,
I write to formally provide you information I suspect you already know. The 2020 Summer meeting of the Mountain States Association is postponed. We were scheduled to meet in Denver in June, but under the circumstances that we all face with the Coronavirus, we feel that postponing our Summer meeting is appropriate.
I use the word “postpone” purposefully. It is my hope that we can reschedule the meeting for a later date. Personally, I get a great deal of enjoyment and learn a great deal about leadership when we get together and therefore hope that we can find a time to gather.
My Colorado colleagues and I will continue, like all of you, to monitor the impact of COVI-19 on our institutions. As we see some return to normalcy (I’m confident we will return to something that looks a little like normal), we will investigate possible dates and locations for a Denver meeting. When we have some suggestions, we will again reach out to all of you in hopes of finding a date that will allow many of us to get together.
So, stay tuned, look for further updates from me, and envision a future where we can gather, reconnect and learn from each other.
Respectfully,
Jay A. Lee, President
